Teaching Darcy The Danger Of Optimism

[this is good]
ROFL!! You know what the difference between men and women is don't you? Men like the 3 stooges and women don't ;-)

Not since I was 9.

Here I go, turning this into something decidedly unfunny, but I judge comedians by such things as their memorable expressions, mannerisms and quotes, and as such, the Stooges are top rate. Others would be people like W.C Fields, The Marx Brothers, Steve Martin, Andy Kaufman, George Carlin, Henny Youngman, and a few others, and I'm concerned that Jerry Seinfeld, while not in their league, may be The Last Comedian.

I also understand why women don't get the Stooges... I can still remember how my wife reacted to the slightest bit of cake in the face at our wedding...

Oh nooo... you didn't did you? Cake in the face? eeewwww.

Of the comedians you list, I like Steve Martin and Andy Kaufman best. Seinfeld is O.K. When the show was on, I liked the neurotic George character and the parents.

The problem with comedians, and actors and even musicians today is they can't keep their mouths shut. Yeah, we all know you are liberal idiots. Just shut up and be funny.

You really said a mouthful there, and here I am without cake.

You know, There are movies and TV shows that i love(d) that i can't watch anymore. Not as protest, but simply because I'm filled with revulsion for the star. The latest now is Roseanne, but the first was Charles Grodin. Not only did I love him, but when he was prominent, people used to tell me that I looked and acted like him, which even though completely coincidental on my part, I found flattering. Now, I would hate to hear that comment. These people, in my opinion, are selfish - they destroy good times and memories because they think they're two cents is worth more.

I know exactly what you mean. I gave up on most TV and movies years ago for that very reason. Susan Sarandan and Woody Harleson are a couple more good examples. I just want to throw something at the TV when they are on now.
I never liked Sean Penn, so that's no problem, but Tim Robbins is at the top of my must-not-see list. I agree with you about both your picks, but for some reason, I don't get as excited about Sarandon because she just seems innately stupid to me
Wow, I just heard on O'Reilly that many Hollywood types contributed maximums to Al Franken, and that Soros has hosted a fundraiser for the recount. Now Tom Hanks, and Steve Martin are on my puke list. I'd given both a pass because they haven't been vocal, but deeds speak louder.
Isn't Tim Robbins a red diaper baby?
Red Diaper baby? Elaborate. :-)
Were his parents Communist Party members? If you have not read "Radical Son" David Horowitz's autobiography I highly recommend it!
