Thank You, Sarah

I found this interesting, and I want to say that yours truly wrote Ms. Klinghoffer some time back, taking her to task for what I considered to be too many misspellings and grammatical errors.

She was kind enough to respond... and apoligize... for English being her second language...

Well shut my mouth. Lesson learned... find out their nationality before ridiculing them!?!

I replied, begging her forgiveness. She graciously accommodated me. Now I mostly reserve my ridicule for WorldNetDaily where I can't go wrong.

Ted, Great tribute to Palin from you and Mr. Ralph Peters.

I am amazed at the garbage being hurled at Sarah Palin, but not at her attitude and taking it in stride.
The secret is her faith in God. She is a living testimony of God's power in a human being who confides in Him and not the latest polls or the recognition of man.
To put God's first in one's life means to let go of all that humanly speaking we consider earning the favor of man.
Then, she also finds favor with man, because the more she is despised by the "intellectuals and educated" the greater inroads she makes with commonplace people.

She is truly an example to women and people of faith all over the globe.

Jordan,

As I've said a number of times, I am not religious. However, unlike most others who share views similar to mine, I have great respect for those who find comfort and strength in their beliefs. In my experience, most religious people mean well and most non-religious people don't. In fact, their main aim is often to try their best to bring believers down.

What's truly shocking about the treatment of Sarah Palin is how bold and how low her detractors are. As cynical as I was about liberals, I was not prepared for this. They seem to think they can be as ugly as they want because they assume most people share their views and because the media has often assisted them and furthered their attacks and their lies. We won't know until the election where the American people are really at.

But if Obama should somehow win, I will never regard him as my President, and I promise to give him far less respect than I do now. He's redefined "rotten" down, and it's too late to atone.

Ted,

I am not religious either. I am a born-again Christian. Religiousity deceives man to believe he can earn God's favor by human accomplishments, never-ending prostration, self-denial or hermitism. God is not interested in our "good works," because aside from Jesus Christ there are not good works. God is interested in a personal relationship with human beings.
That, I offer, is at the core of Sarah Palin's inner strength and confidence.

As for her detractors, they would not thrive had we a reporting media, in place of one predisposed to lie, cheat and destroy just to arrive at its goal.

In Matt. 12:35 we read:

"A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things."

What we are witnessing sounds a lot like Proverbs16:27

"An ungodly man digs up evil. and in his lips there is burning fire."
Sooner or later, people's sins catch up with them.

Prov. !6:32,33 puts it in perspective for those who have trusted in Jesus.

" He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that rules his spirit that the one who takes a city.
The lot is cast into the lap; but its every decision is from the Lord."

You and I have a somewhat different idea of what it means to be "not religious." ;) But I must tell you, in the short time you've been here, you've enriched virtually every day for me.

VOX is possibly the least trafficked service I've been involved with, but amazingly, it has far and away the best people I've encountered on the Net. I don't want to name names for fear I'll leave someone out, but you and they are the reason I've stayed on here. It seems that each time I feel it's too much effort, someone else comes along who makes it worthwhile again.

So to all of you, please, STOP IT already!

Thank you Ted.
I had actually grown tired of online discussions as it was either the same old same, or full of displaced, inexplicable animosity, just for expressing one's opinion.

Communication is always easier among like-minded individuals, but I admit it's not easy to find those who share similar interests, let alone express their views in a coherent fashion.
This blog and another have been than venue of expression to voice my opinions and beliefs, therefore, I am glad the reception has been worth it.

Further, I had no desire to have my own blog, for I do not have a lot of time to dedicate to it.
On the other hand, VOX makes it so easy when you first sign in, that I decided it might come in handy when wanting to share my own thoughts or material, so here I am.

To completely be on same page, let me add that you and I also have a divers meme as to what is the official rendition of "to be religious."
I always appreciate honesty whatever the source of moral authority. Whether we agree or disagree, at least we know where we stand with one another. This is in response to the discussion between you and Jordan. Being like minded and having a discussion on a controversial issue is what the Dems are guilty of, known as living in a ideological bubble. I appreciate diverse viewpoints on the controversial issues, but I have to insist on honesty in the discussion else, what's the point? No room for drawing helpful conclusions there, only a venue of abusive communication.

VOX's simplicity is what keeps me here, but their short name included in the address is what drew me here. Easy to explain to others how to find my blog. Having the conservative neighborhood makes it more fun but I'm really here to get the message of self reliance and self discipline out to the younger generation. As I publish here, I'm working on developing other blogsites where I can crosspost what I've done here.

I will have to chime in and agree with you all. I have enjoyed the "company" of all of you on this thread. I don't think any of us have common interests except perhaps common decency. I know you all are not interested in the things I put on my blog, yet you all do come by to visit now and then. It is all appreciated.

I admit I was hesitant to comment here. I didn't know what to think of Mr. Ted but after taking the time to read his words day in and day out, I have to say (please don't take this the wrong way, I have no idea in the world how old you are) but he reminds me of my dad. I like my dad.

LOL! Your dad might be able to say the same thing!!?!

Thanks to you all. I really appreciate the comments here. This might be a good time to say again that I don't comment a lot on others' blogs for what I feel are two good reasons: 1) I have little tolerance for idiots whom I invariably run into in the comments section, and 2) because of 1) I tend to be disruptive.

So I try to practice the discipline Bob mentioned, but I've had mixed success.

That's perfectly O.K. as Jordan said once, my blog is like being at the office. It's my work, and I need to stay professional and away from controversial subjects. But I do have opinions and feel the need to voice them now and again. I'm like you and not a religious person, but I enjoy those who are. I find them to be good and decent people.

Loved the commentary by Ralph Peters!

'With each new day, with each new attempt to demean you, Sarah, you become a greater and greater example of what's right with America. You're not just a role model for women, you're a role model for the country. And what you've already done for your country makes you worthy of our highest acclaim.'

((sniggers )) - liberally

You've just proven Ted's point.

They can't help it. Just like they can't help making bigoted remarks about McCain's age. I knew liberals were crumbs, but this election has shown us what we never knew- that not only do they have do decency, they don't even believe in the things they espouse themselves - inclusion, diversity, tolerance...

They are truly rotten people, and Obama represents them well.
